The 1982 edition of the CAMRA publication ‘Oxfordshire Ale’ has the following description.
“Large, unusually styled modern building with fascinating roof history! Formerly a
coaching inn on the original London road; now somewhat cut off and hard to find.
Popular with local RAF servicemen. Good range of pub games. Landlord is ex-journalist
of some repute.” The pub has now closed.
